this book was a tad patronizing as the other reviewers have mentioned - it's also very dated in 2022. i found it useful in accepting my introverted tendencies (although i am not a believer that anyone is solely introverted or extraverted, it's a spectrum) but otherwise there was a lot of noise and wasted pages repeating the same advice over and over

My initial thoughts when reading this book was in super interested and it was super interesting. Then the author went into science…Science is probably one of my favorite subjects but reading about it during my leisure time is not what I want. Thankfully, the author understands one will not want to read the entire book cover to cover so she give her full co-signing on digging in the book wherever you wish. I just couldn’t fathom that so I read it in its entirety so basically it took me a while. Lol.
After reading this book, I’m 100% sure I’m an introvert. However, I’m somewhere on the spectrum and not on the extreme side. I learned so much on how to accept myself as an introvert, how to help my son who is an introvert, how to be a better coworker, and how to be a better wife. Definitely worth a read!

A must-read for all introverts! It gives a lot of positive information about being an introvert--and, as the title states, how to thrive in an extrovert world.

This is one of my favourite books about introversion. It's funny and validating in a culture which praises extroverts more than the rest of us.

Good information, but at times it seems as if the author was writing to children.

"The Introvert Advantage" is an excellent introduction for introverts who have a problematic relationship with their introverted qualities and feel misunderstood.
The author provides an introduction to brain chemistry and how it affects the way we interact with the world (as introverts or extroverts). She also introduces real-life situations as experienced by herself or the introverts she interviewed for the book, and shares some advice on how to act in certain situations while honouring your introverted nature which makes it an interesting and relatable read for introverts and possibly extroverts who want to better understand the "innies" in their lives.

I found some parts of this book useful, as I identify with Laney's description of an introvert. However, I find she lacks acknowledgement of something beyond the simplistic binary of introvert/extrovert.

I thought the research in the first part of the book was interesting, but the advice for introverts throughout the rest of the book seemed kinda patronizing and outdated
