I didn't appreciate the "pick-me" MC female, the mention about her weight, or the usage of guns to show protection by the MC male. I believe others would enjoy this, but to me it felt forced and quite judgemental.

Found the main characters unlikable on their own (in particular, Josh who is macho, overprotective, whiny about his job in a way that seems tinged with racism given that he’s moved from South Dakota to LA,

ready to have sex with a girl who broke up with her boyfriend in the last ten minutes, and keeps inviting himself over and pressuring her to let him sleep in her bed

), and the lack of communication in their relationship even worse. I need to be able to root for a couple, so I’m moving on.
