I normally cannot tolerate audiobooks (I read super fast so 9.5 hours to listen to a book I could read in less than a third the time is really hard for me), but I've been wanting to try one with both male and female narrators and I loved this book so after trying the sample i decided to give it a shot.

I'm so glad I did. These 2 narrators were fantastic and fit Josh and Kristen perfectly.

It is hard to say if I would have loved it as much the first time through. A lot of my enjoyment was hearing what is already read come to life in their voices.

I would definitely try audiobooks narrated by either of these 2 again.

“Love is for better or worse. It’s always and no matter what. The no-matter-what just happened for us first.”

Maid of honor, Kristen, and Best man, Josh, meet in an unconventional way where sparks fly. The more they seem to fall for each other... and they could be perfect together...but there are some problems. Josh? Well, he wants a baseball team full of kids. Kirsten? Well, she is struggling with things Josh has no idea about, like a needed medical surgery, which will make it impossible for her to have kids. Kirsten is determined to keep him in the friend zone for his own good...and hers...but it may be too late...for both of them.

Okay. Wow. I loved this book. Why? Let me list the reasons.

It was raw about some very tough issues surrounding infertility and relationships.

It was funny as hell, around and sometimes through the truly heartbreaking moments.

It was beautiful. The love story and friendships inside of it made my heart so happy and I couldn’t put it down once I started.

It had everything: tough topics, hilarious character interactions, strong character development, and great story telling.

Kristen is honest and says what she thinks always. Josh is sweet and gives it as good as he gets it. And some of the other characters? Can’t even get into it because of the post character count.

BUT REALLY! This book 😭💕

There were times I couldn’t stop laughing and smiling while I was reading to the point my cheeks hurt and there were points I wanted to sit there and cry.

This book, could be very triggering to some so please check my content warnings at the bottom, but if the triggers are okay I HIGHLY recommend this to people who enjoy romance, but also like to be taken on a rollercoaster of emotions.

PS Make sure to read the author’s note at the end when done.

I don't know how to talk about this book without giving spoilers. I'll just say that I could related so much to this main character. The experience she had with her body and the emotions that come with the decision she had to make brought back so many memories from my own experience.

I picked this book up because I thought it was going to be a fluffy romance. I was so very wrong. There are a few situations in the book that had me heartbroken and sobbing. Absolutely devastated.  But overall, it was a well told story that I loved.

This book was so good and it definitely made me cry a few times. It was so heartbreaking to read because I was wondering the whole time if they were ever really going to be able to make it work. I really thought it was going to go in the direction of Zoe and Kevin and I was not happy. I am very happy with how it turned out and it was beautifully written.

I can forgive quite a bit of nonsense in romance books, since I just like to gobble up stories about two idiots figuring out how to get together. So at first I shrugged off the "not like other women" trope, the fact that the dude was kind of a jerk and rather possessive, and the rampant miscommunication. But more and more troubling plot points kept adding up towards the end, plus the (spoilerly) tragic twist tipped the scales enough where I didn't enjoy the book anymore.

Definitely a fun read although extremely sad at some times. I wish there was a little less pining and a few scenes felt unnecessary for the story but I still enjoyed watching the characters interact with each other.
