I couldn’t stand the main characters, the constant “not like other girls” descriptions, and suddenly a character
has OCD
. But I enjoyed the plot, found it a quick easy read, and am excited for the next book because it’s about a character I liked more.

TW: Major character death, car accident

I understand not wanting to give away the plot but this DEFINITELY needed a TW!!!

I absolutely loved the back and forth banter between characters. I loved how relatable this story was and how it can resonate with anyone experiencing infertility. I am not personally effected by infertility, to my knowledge, but it’s always on my mind especially as I get older. I feel like I would be following in Kristen’s shoes in that I would hate to ever be with someone who expects to have their own biological children and then wind up not being able to and constantly feeling like they are settling for you. This can cause quite the trauma and make you feel worse for not being able to carry children on your own. The ending had me sobbing and feeling all the feels. I wasn’t planning on crying but here we are and I loved the entire story.

I love how believable these characters are, but the refusal to communicate trope is tired. The drama ramps up dramatically in the second half and the tone shifts SERIOUSLY. Be mindful of the content warnings.

Wow! I have just met the MOST stubborn FMC I’ve ever read so far! Loved this one on so many levels. Aside from wanting to shake Kristen, I loved the chronic illness representation here and the rawness of grief and how it was represented as well. Josh was an incredible MMC! Seriously someone grant that man sainthood already! Abby Jimenez is definitely making her way to auto-read status as an author for me!
