leaned too far into the “not like other girls” trope,
i really felt it was SO unnecessary that brandon ended up dying that just ripped my heart out for no reason and i kinda hated it

Many tears were shed on this emotional rollercoaster of a book! This was my second read (after Just for the Summer) by Abby Jimenez and I can confidently say I’m a fan. She strikes such a great balance of lightheartedness and deep emotion (with a tasteful dose of spice) that makes me want to read more and more!

I think Abby Jimenez is great at handling trauma and hard topics, but OMG I cannot stand when the whole plot could be solved by one single conversation.
Kristen was really frustrating, making up her mind and deciding that Josh doesn't deserve a say, and Josh felt so flat. The only thing I can remember about him is that he liked/fell in love with Kristen, but he didn't have much personality outside of that.
