"Magical Places" is indeed enchanting as the subtitle says. The book is a collection of descriptions of places around the world. The descriptions aren't exhaustive, but they are interesting and encouraged me to learn more. There are interludes that invite readers to connect to magic and energy in a variety of ways. The illustrations and pictures are beautiful, and the book is designed really well. It was a delightful quick read.

Super interesting but definitely not by any means anything extensive or more than surface-level amount of info on these kinds of sites. I do however think that this is a great tool to find out about and get interested in enough about the sites it does mention to get you to do your own deeper dive/ research into them.
There was one thing that kinda irked me a bit though. Normally in a non-fiction the author will give what is generally known as fact - which she did - but in addition to that there was also language used that was very "this is fact" about things that aren't typically seen as fact like magic, and chakras and other things. I know some people do believe in those things but they're not necessarily things that are accepted as scientifically true.
Very cool book though!

This book was very interesting. I picked it up from the Harry Potter shop in Toronto, near Casaloma and enjoyed it so much. Even just looking forward to reading it! The only section I didn't love was haunted places. Some of the stories were a bit too creepy, but for the most part I could tolerate them.
I recommend this to anyone who likes to travel, plans to or just wants to learn more about the world.

Positive one-page descriptions and beautiful illustrations of some of the world's most magical places are exactly what I needed during this garbage fire of a year. Highly recommend.

Make sure you have your phone or other internet capable device nearby! While there are pretty illustrations and basic descriptions, you will definitely want to look up many of these places on your own.

This book is perfect if you want to read something easy, relaxing, but also interesting. It mainly contains basic descriptions of fascinating places around the world and that's fine with me when I just want to relax. The illustrations are lovely and I googled some of these places afterwards.
