This story follows Poppy and Alex, two best friends and total opposites who take a summer trip together every year. Now, after two years of barely speaking, Poppy is determined to do whatever it takes to repair their friendship during a weeklong California trip. I read this book in only a week! The way the chapters jump back and forth between their past summer trips and their current trip made it really easy to devour. I think this book is written for millennials and I definitely resonated with some of the struggles Poppy has as a twenty-something trying to figure out what she wants for her future. Even though this is a romance, I really appreciated the depth and complexity of the characters and the complexity of their relationship. The character development is spot-on!
