I didn’t love this one as much as I expected I would! I’m not quite sure how to explain it but even though a lot happened, it didn’t quite feel like there was plot moving the story along. And maybe that’s just what happens with a book about the entire story of a Goddess - that’s a millennium of experiences to pack into less than 400 pages.
HOWEVER, I did really really love the final section of this book, and the way it described the gods’ decision to leave Olympus and integrate with humanity. Such a lovely metaphor for how mankind’s relationship has changed with the Greek gods.
I do wish Hera hadn’t finished her story as delulu as she did. Her character was hard to root for — not because she didn’t deserve revenge — but because she failed everytime and after awhile I just really wanted her to move on. 😅
