I enjoyed this story immensely!
The worldbuilding, the pacing, the characters, it is very well done.
I liked that this story was a combination of a romantasy and a heist story.
Evie and Bjorn are both flawed characters that hold their secrets close to their chest. I found it interesting to see them grapple with their need for independence, general distrust in the world, and increasing attraction to each other.
A Heart of Ruby Flame is a standalone in the Aforetime series, and I love seeing the world that Lina Ravenhill has developed extending further.

I received an ARC from the author. My opinions are my own.
