Oh em gee. Where do I even begin with this book?

The first two books in the series were very good. I enjoyed the characters and world building so much-but they honestly can't hold a candle to this one. "Clockwork Princess" tore my heart apart, put the pieces back together, then tore it to shreds again. I laughed. Cried. Sobbed.

For as long as I've known about this book, I have noticed that many people who have read this series adore Will Herondale. Personally, I couldn't stand him in the first two books. I am kind of of the whole "bad boy with a troubled past" trope. BUT GOSH! I fell in love with him in this book. I am still 100% team Jem, but I honestly think that's because he reminds me so much of my husband! Anyways, I rooted for Jem in the beginning, but the character arch of Will is just absolutely beautiful when seen in its entirety. My heart felt completely full when seeing the veil pulled back and his true character revealed.

Everything else was wonderfully wrapped in a very satisfying bow at the end of this series. Nothing was left undone and ever single tidbit seemed to be completely fleshed out to the point of feeling like I had just walked away from eating Thanksgiving dinner-completely satiated to the point of needing a good nap to digest it all.

I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who loved a good love story with a good mixing of fantasy, lore, and a bit of the weird. The sweet taste of these characters will last long after you have closed the book. I'm honestly still dealing with the book hangover, being that these characters felt so real to the point of actual friends.

I can't wait to start the Mortal Instruments series. Cassie Clare is a phenomenal writer, as far as I am concerned, and I plan to read everything she puts out.
