Clementine's Parlor of the Extraordinary and Curious by Monroe A. Wildrose
3.0
3 Stars
Set in an alternate historical fantasy world where humans live among witches, elves, and all sorts of fantastical creatures, this focuses on Clementine, human resident of the touristy town of Fairven. She’s an eclectic procurer of things that are unusual and charming and like the blurb says, one day an eleven guard asks if she has a very rare item. When Clementine doesn't have the item, she reluctantly agrees to lead Enver to the man who might know how to find it. Hence, a little journey out of her fair town which is way out of her comfort zone.
This was a super cozy, little adventure, where complete opposites clash in all the ways (grumpy sunshine, sorta forced proximity, one bed (once). Clementine was a breath of fresh air as nothing gets her down. Enver rubbed me wrong just as much as he did Clementine, though he eventually came around.
An overall easy read to while away an hour or two of your time. I wouldn’t be opposed to checking out the sequel for an equally easy read about Clemeinte’s bestie and what went on while she was on her adventure.
