Being Home by Traci Sorell

5.0

If I know anything in this world to be true, it's that Traci Sorell and Michaela Goade never cease to amaze me with the wonderful things they write. I didn't know much about this one before picking it up, but it was a purely delightful reading experience that emphasizes a certain level of calmness and return to nature that even I appreciated. As I've gotten older, I've become more aware of the importance of connecting back to nature and it's simplicity. It reminded me of the time that I spent living in the country with my great grandmother, a place that truly felt like home. It's also a love letter to family, traditions, community, and a more simple way of life without distractions. The illustrations in this are magnificent. The amount of detail on each page is not to be missed. I would not be surprised if this shows up as a contender for awards next year.
