Anna has been heartbroken for the past 2 years after the sudden disappearance of her best friend, whom she was secretly in love with. When she finally decides that it's time to move on, all of a sudden, a whole lot of extremely gorgeous men seem to tumble into her life. All these gorgeous men seem to have an unhealthy interest in her, and Anna's not interested in drama and tries to avoid them. Emphasis on "tries." The universe has other plans for her, as it turns out that our girl seems to be the woman that has tied to a prophesy that will decide the fate of two ancient species: Vampires and Whisperers - a sort supernatural deities.
The buildup is incredible. The further the story unfolds, the crazier it gets, in the best possible way. There's a lot of lies and secrets, and I was side-eying everyone, because I trusted nobody. Except for one of the mmc's, Adam. Adam seemed to be the only guy capable of putting aside his ego and thinking of Anna's wellbeing first.
And there was a lot of male ego going around in this story. I was shaking my head and laughing a lot while reading. This could've been annoying, but there are enough satisfying moments where people get taken down a peg.
This was a debut novel and first in a series. I loved it and enjoyed it immensely.
In the next novel, I hope that we see Anna finding her voice and becoming less of a victim to her circumstances. She definitely has powerhouse potential, and I'd love to see it!
