Witches of Ash and Ruin by E. Latimer
2.0
The lore in this book was incredible. It was spooky and gave me a bad vibe. It got better towards the end. The characters were so 2D that I forgot the main character's name while writing this review. Anyways, basically felt like a big waste of time, and Sam was unnecessary and pissed me off. His story didn't even wrap up. Like, obviously there will be more in this series but like, wrap this asshole up and don't include him. He was so irrelevant it was like his chapters were included just to make the book longer. I read this whole book start to finish in one sitting in about 4 hours just so I wouldn't have to spend multiple days on it. The style was something of a Maggie Stiefvater vibe with none of the joy or magic that the Raven Cycle brings.
