The Woman in Me by Britney Spears
3.0
3 Stars
Even if one lives under a rock, I would be hard pressed to believe that they hadn’t heard of the infamous Britney Spears. Her story, her rise to fame, and her struggles for autonomy and a voice in her own life is like watching a train wreck you can’t look away from.
Time and time again we see that often fame has a price, and Spears has definitely paid for it over and over.
This is not going to win any literary awards and many things are glossed over or lack depth and insight. However, if Britney has finally gotten back a small piece of herself despite seemingly everyone (including her awful family) being against her then I only wish for her continued happiness and empowerment.
