The Princess Bride by William Goldman

5.0

What a delightful read— I’ve only ever seen parts of the movie (I know, I know— but now that I’ve read the book I’m going to seek it out), but now I feel like I know what all the hype is about. The book is written with such humor, charm, and irony that I could feel myself smiling most of the time I was reading it. Such a fun format to write it, as an abridged version of the real, historically-accurate book with notes throughout from the abridger— it made for a really clever and satisfying story telling device that suited the tongue-in-cheek adventure and love story background.
