Mapmakers and the Enchanted Mountain: by Cameron Chittock, Amanda Castillo

3.0

I’m still not convinced that there’s enough world building and background information for this series. It’s not bad, but I think that it’s surface level to the extent that you have to be willing to stick with the series to figure out exactly how this world got to this point. The mapmaking is fun and interesting, but I want to know what happened to all the mapmakers and why these areas of the world are so separated. The artwork is great and I really like the feel of the mountain elements and the community that was represented. Overall, a solid read but it could better with more reveals and more expansive world development.
