Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez

5.0

Ok so let’s talk for a second about how Abby Jimenez has the incredible ability to write characters that are deep, layered and flawed and make me care about them so much. She is truly incredible when it comes to building out storylines that showcase the real trauma and tragedy in life. And meeting people where they are rather than creating some fictional couple that is sunshine and roses from the jump.

I won’t give too much away since this was an arc but I can say that I would totally marry Justin. Maddy is the ultimate BFF. Amber gives me a little PTSD myself. And Emma? Well, she’s one of the most real and relatable characters I’ve read. Ever.

Read it when it comes out. For real. Or you will be the asshole.
