A good enough sequel as we continue to follow Piper on her quest to resurrect her sister Bree from magical stasis. She’s hell bent determined to find answers, and the only one who may could help is the demon Ronan who claims her as his mate. Of course, Piper doesn't want his help. She also doesn’t want to deal with these forced upon feelings, but she can’t deny the inexplicable pull towards Ronan.

Piper is a typical urban fantasy heroine - stubborn, independent, bulldozing her way through life’s challenges, liking no one and refusing assistance. To be honest, it’s a lot tiresome. However, witchy ally Nathalie is fabulous, and Ronan is quite the smexy smoldering mystery.

Where this shines is the interesting magical world building and the multiple antagonists at play - shifters, witches, demons, etc. I actually want to get to the spinoff, so I’m hoping for a better 3rd installment! Wish me luck!
