Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling
4.0
When I read this book TWENTY YEARS AGO (wow.) I would have given it 11/10 stars and never shut up about it.
Re-reading it now, it’s still great, but I think a lot of that is due to nostalgia. Opening the cover felt like visiting old friends, and there were so many details I had forgotten about that warmed my heart.
That being said, I did find myself wishing the “big” scenes were just a little bit bigger and the characters just a bit more flushed out. But then again, these books were mostly written for children, so I’ll let it go I suppose.
All-in-all, I'm glad this book exists, I'm happy I re-read it, and I will continue to read the rest of the series.
