Most books I have read, take place within Germany. Like a River from its Course takes place within the Ukraine-a setting I'm unfamiliar with. That's okay, because Kelli Stuart does an amazing job of immersing you in and making you feel like you're in the middle of it all.

My mission is to make my father proud, to be a part of history.

The book is written with different perspectives, the chapter titles allowing you to keep track of who's POV you are experiencing. These people felt so real. If you can't get emotionally involved with the characters in this book- something is absolutely wrong.

This book has all of the angst, heartache, and determination you expect from a WWII novel. If you have any interest in this subject matter-pick.this.up.
