Heavy "The Mummy" vibes, right down to
leads who are randomly descended from ancient Egyptian tribesmen and full of esoteric knowledge, which... I wasn't expecting a lot so it wasn't actually offensive, but at the same time having the only brown person in the cast be a descendant of an ancient mystical tribe of nomads devoted to protecting the world is kind of a look?
Fun and light. I'm enjoying this series and it's a good distraction right now but I'm not going to need to revisit it later; it doesn't have the heft of Freya Marske or someone.
