Was excited to tackle my first 'adult' read of 1984, having only previously read it during independent reading time in middle school-- which in retrospect probably doesn't even count at all. Orwell is a master at what he does, and there's not much for me to say that hasn't been said plenty of times already-- but I definitely do recommend anyone to pick up and read this book again if they haven't in a long time, as the unfortunate prescience and parallel to today's world are unmistakable and serve as a warning of how much worse things could get.
