WOW! THIS BOOK IS SUCH A RUSH! 🤩
If you're looking for a book that's as warm, cosy and sweet as a freshly baked cake, THIS IS THE ONE!
what to expect:
• emotional baking, magical baking, lots and lots of scrumptious baking! 🧁✨
• a recipe after each chapter - both recipes for baking and recipes for life 💌
• a diverse set of characters of all ages, gender (and agender) expressions, sexual identities, racial backgrounds and taste palates.
• the best found family you can imagine; generously flavoured with sugar, spice and both the 'everything nice' AND 'not-so-nice' (as all good, balanced and REAL families are)
• a plot full of magic, self-exploration, and love in it's many beautiful (and messy!) forms
• & a sprinkling (that looks more like a waterfall) of PRIDE 🏳🌈🏳🌈🏳🌈
After binge-reading I am fizzy and buzzing, as if I just ate every cake, muffin, scone, pie and brownie in this book! Can you get a sugar rush just from reading about sweet things? I feel that way right now.
A story as bittersweet as chocolate.
And an ending that leaves a pool of melted chocolate in the place where your heart used to be.
And if you don't like baked goods? That's okay! Even the savoury muffins (like our dear delivery-biker Harley), the fiery spices (like genius baker Marisol), the crucial pinch of salt that most recipes need (like big sister Tess), and the sharp sour tang of freshly squeezed lemon (like ex-girlfriend W) are welcome here! Everyone deserves to enjoy this wholesome, tasteful experience (and maybe bake/buy your own treats to enjoy while reading because you are going to get HUNGRY!!)
