Adam is NHL's hotshot goalie and most eligible bachelor. Adam wants nothing more than to find "the one", but has struggled due to heartbreak and his superstar status. One day while walking his dog, Bear, he meets Rosie, a single mom working her way to become a vet. She has no idea who he is.
I LOVE Adam. I will not be accepting any criticism of him.
He has been burned badly by his horrible ex who cheated, gaslit, and used him. He just wants a happy ending, but serial dating has lead to nothing more than string of women who are interested in his money and fame. When he meets Rosie and she doesn't know who he is, he thinks that it is his chance for someone to get to know him without hockey influencing her.
I think it is understandable that he would want to keep his career hidden in the beginning. They were so honest with each other in every other aspect of their lives. He knew that he could trust her, but was so scared of being burned again.
Rosie has struggled with so many things in her life. Like Adam, she was in the foster system, unlike Adam, she was never adopted. She struggles with a deep feeling of being unloved and not wanted. She is so strong and resistant. She has fought for everything she has in her life and to make a better life for her son. With Adam, she is finally able to take a deep breath and learn to trust someone to help and support her.
I LOVE Rosie and Adam's relationship. They support, respect, and lean on one another (when he comes home to find her in his house after the Courtney debacle ðŸ˜). The way that Adam embraces Connor is so heartwarming.
I adore this entire cast of characters. They are a family. They support, encourage, and fight for each other. (I have a new found appreciation for Cara). I love that we get to revisit all of these character and seeing their incredible bonds.
This story tackles heavy topic like grief and loss of parents. It also discusses the foster system and adoption.
Tropes: Meet-cute, Hockey, cinnamon roll, found family, single parent
