I wanted to love this so much and I did but it is true that the first 7 chapters were a bit of a challenge. Mainly because I've finished reading the first three books and could not continue with the story (I got a bit tired of the characters, I guess). I read the 7 chapters. Waiter 4 months and then finished it within a day!

As always, the romance is a bit at the background (though the love Whyborne and Griffin have is always tangible) but the mystery was really intriguing.

I loved also the tiny twists - even though they were a little predictable (at least the one about the villain).

I am still highly invested in the series and cannot wait to continue it!
