TW: parental death, cancer, workplace harassment. I'm not a big romance reader but this book had me HOOKED from the very beginning! 🙈 This book follows Olive Smith, a PhD candidate, who ends up in the cutest grumpy meets sunshine fake dating scenario with young hotshot professor, Dr Adam Carlsen. However, Olive soon comes to realise that the only thing more complicated that a hypothesis on love is putting her own heart under the microscope. Omg this read had me falling hook, line and sinker for Adam!! He comes across as a complete ass to everyone but Olive brings out the cute loving side of him and you can't help but fall in love with him. Fake dating is one trope that I never really looked at because from the few I've read they are predictable and can be boring but Ali Hazelwood really showed that if you write it well then it is a great ride. Also I love the amount of rep in this book including diversity rep for women in STEM and BIPOC women in STEM as well as LGBTQ+ rep 🙌🏼Overall, I highly recommend this book and cannot wait for the next one to come out in 2022!
