This novel has been on my TBR for a while, and I finally took the time to read it as part of a local Classics Club.

This was my first time reading Charlotte Bronte and I think it may have been too gothic for my taste. The descriptions of nature were sweeping and beautiful and I really enjoyed watching Jane grow up and getting to know some of the side characters. However, some of her relationships felt quite toxic and some of the plot points made me a bit uneasy. I realize that this was written in a totally different time, but these things still took away from my enjoyment of the book.
