It's been almost a year since the fallout of The White Scorpion.  James is back in London, dealing with JIA and Winter.  But he's also visiting an old friend at her physical Rehab.  He and Sam were forged in fire in Africa but that doesn't mean they will ever be open and honest to fault with each other!

HIs latest mission is supposed to just be a simple reconnaissance mission.  Follow the target, see where he goes, who he sees, who he talks with.  But the target gets kidnapped and James is thrown right back into an adrenaline fuelled ride. But Ryker soon finds himself out in the cold, he's being side-lined and doesn't know why.  But when he heads to Europe he opens an old can of worms!

Did I guess who Daisy was? Yes, I did but only after about half way when I realised that not all of the chapters were set in present day!  I enjoyed my adventure through Germany and France and the rapid pace kept everything tightly focussed.

I cannot wait to see what scrape Ryker gets into next 'cos we all know that "sabbatical" is not going to last!
