Wow, this book!

The worldbuilding is extensive and very immersive. The story gets right into the action, and the world gets explained to us through the eyes of the main characters.
It's wellwritten, and  the story didn't end up where I thought it would be going in the very beginning. 
The twists! Every time I thought it would be going in a certain direction, the author spun it around.The final chapters had me gasping. I would have liked to see more usage of elemental magic, but overall, I had a lot of fun reading this.

Part 1 of the story is told from a dual first-person POV, and part 2 of the story is triple POV.
