I went into this knowing its a fast paced sci-fi thriller with a trans woman MC. Cool, right? I was excited because I want more sci-fi with trans MCs. But...this was not for me.
My biggest issue with this book is the writing style. It is very much "telling over showing." You know the saying, "show, don't tell"? Yeah, this novella took that saying and threw it out the window. The writing was so painfully simple. So painfully telling us what was happening. And I got so bored. I was so bored, in fact, that I took a break from finishing this NOVELLA. Why would I have to take a break from a novella?? Like I was so close to just shelving it as a DNF, but I pushed through because I was interested to see the end.
The end was sort of worth finishing, but I don't know. This novella just overall bored me to death. Do not recommend at all.
