The Mister by E.L. James
3.0
I like FSOD, so was hoping this would be the same level of quality reading.
Unfortunately it is now. I gave it three because I finished it and some parts were the story picked up pace, were good to read.
Biggest gripe with this book is that it's just unnecessarily long. Over 500 pages and I can honestly say that if that as cut down in half it would probably get an extra star. With that many pages, it's pretending to be a literary masterpiece and it's just not that. It's a romance, with a bit od drama, overhyped characters and a few steamy scenes.
Maxim was predictable and unbelievably quick to change from a man-whore to this sweet-madly-in-love guy that is willing to travel through half of Europe to fight for his girl.
Alessia is annoyingly innocent and keeps calling Maxim mister which really grated on me. Plus still offering to clean for him for money whilst in a relationship with him was a step too far!
Anyway - I have the second book to read and just hoping it picks up a little - good enough read if you don't need anything too involved.
