Southernmost Murder by C.S. Poe
3.5
I haven’t read Poe in ages, and this story just points out that I need to rectify that.
This starts with Aubrey. He’s very excited for almost boyfriend Jun to come visit as they have been circling each other for a very long time and this little get together will hopefully solidify things. However, right before their vacation is to begin, Aubrey finds an old skeleton in the historic house he manages and basically starts a chain reaction of murder and mayhem.
So, if you like mysteries, the promise of a pirate’s treasure, and two people who are gaga for each other then this was a quick fun adventure! Aubrey is a chatty spit fire narcoleptic, and Jun is a dreamy stoic G-man that really made me sit up and pay attention. For me, Jun was the best part of this book - strong capable protective and just oh so perfect! Aubrey is one lucky guy!
Though this is loosely connected to Poe’s well loved Snow & Winter series (which I haven’t read), I was not lost one bit. I’m only sad there isn’t more stories with this duo. Darn!
