The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life by Mark Manson
4.0
Received this book as a gift from someone who knew well enough that this is some advice I could use in my personal/professional tendencies to overanalyze and be overly critical of my own plans and actions.
The book gives some terrific ways to shape your thinking, reframe your personal values and metrics of success in a way that can help you attack your professional life (or personal, I suppose, but I took the most from this in a career perspective, but I think the value in this book is you can take from it what you choose) with new gusto, perspective, and fire.
The reason for a 4 star review, which might be closer to 3.5, is simply because-- as the title suggests-- Mason writes with a bit of 'I'm such a cool dude, bro' style that can be off-putting at times. The wisdom of the advice shines through, but I can do without the rad dude wrapping it's too often presented in.
All in all, a worthwhile read that I think has been helpful to me and I did fly through it pretty quickly so it's not a huge commitment.
