Hex and the enigma that is Shade have been bumping heads and trading insults for a while so I knew that when they finally spent more than 2 minutes together things were going to be explosive!
Hex isn't jealous per se of all her friends finding love - she's just like a man who liked her the way she is and would stick around and not run off when someone "more" came along. Hex is no shy, retiring violet - she knows her strengths and just how awesome she is, she doesn't need a man to complete her or prop her up. Just support her and love her. Shade may have the veneer of capable, playboy spy down pat but this guy hides some traumatic childhood memories and really believes that he's not "couple" material.
Hex and Cain (aka Shade) give off sparky, intense bickering attraction, everyone can see it apparently except them (and KIllian lol). Hex gets a chance to go into the field and shows just how much Moxy she has. It's hard to tell who fell first between these two because they've been circling each other so long. Cain wins props for pulling one over on the "tech goddess" however!
Smashing book and heads up - some of your favourites from Norcross also slide in for a visit! And we get to meet some very interesting brothers from NOLA!
I received an ARC from the author and this is my voluntary review
