“There’s nothing to worry about. It’s not like I’m going to fall in love with him after one date.”

Damnit Ashley. I didn’t think I was going to love a story more than your debut Muscles & Monsters, but here we are. Mantras and Minotaurs got me good, and it gets all the stars from me.

In the third instalment in the Leviathan Fitness series we are back in Briar Glenn. Tegan and Atlas are doing great, Reece and Cyrus have a puppy, and this New Year’s Eve we meet Pam. Pam is Tegan’s and Reece’s mom. She’s home alone with her cat, watching romance movies, thinking her time being in a relationship is long done. Her daughter Tegan suggests trying a dating app, and Pam in a very “new year new me vibe” says why the hell not and dives in. There’s a match! Alistair Reid!

Ashley really got me in my feelings with this one. I was laughing. I was smiling. My eyes were wet. I was not prepared for this little novella to pack such a cozy reassuring punch.

I think for a lot of us romance-granny-grammers (anyone over the age of 32) there’s little bits of ourselves reflected in Pam and Alistair, more so than when we read the romances (which we still love) but where the characters are in their 20s. It was so refreshing to be seen and to have moments of “damn Pam, same. Big same”.

If you want a cozy, no angst, insta-lust, later in life romance, this one is going to hit the mark for you.

If you want absolute delicious filth with toys, a little bit of exhibitionism, and a “Good. Fucking. Girl.” that will rattle your brain, this is also the one for you.

As always thank you  for the letting me back into Briar Glenn early with a gifted ARC. I love you, but how dare you make me feel feelings. 🖤
