This classic follows our protagonist, Emma, who appoints herself a matchmaker for several inhabitants of her village with comical and unintended results.
I enjoyed this book and found some of the characters amusing, but overall I think it is just too long. Pride and Prejudice is one of my favourite novels so I didn’t expect this one to live up to that but I felt it dragged at times. Emma’s antics and the anxieties of her father were amusing and I enjoyed reading about daily life and courtship in the early 1800s.
