I felt like the banter between Inez and Whit was very natural, something that many books are missing these days. The author wrote the plot and included tropes instead of writing tropes and including plot. The plot was new and refreshing, I enjoyed the Egyptian history and didn't see the twists coming. I felt like I knew something was wrong and going to happen, but didn't know what. Very excited that this series is a duology and not a trilogy! I think the author was smart to present the ending the way she did. Very The Cruel Prince/The Wicked King.
