Hans by S.J. Tilly

dark hopeful sad tense fast-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Loveable characters? Yes
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

4.25

Genre: Mafia romance, smutty romance, fiction
My summary: Hans has spent the last twenty years on a quest for vengeance in a war against human traffickers. Having resigned himself to a solitary and violent life, he’s caught off guard by Cassandra, the gorgeous girl next door, and he is soon obsessed. Cassandra has spent the year she’s lived here pining after Hans and trying to make a connection, until danger draws them together.

My thoughts:
I was expecting Hans’s story in the final Alliance book to be explosive, and it did not disappoint. Other than the whole plot of brutally killing human traffickers, I thought the story was really sweet. I think Hans may be one of my favorite terrifyingly dangerous men in this series. Now, if someone could please change every use of “clip” to “magazine” in every gun scene, I’d say this is my favorite book of the series. This is the smutty, girl next door, dark mafia romance that you didn’t know you needed.
