My only regret about reading this book is that I have now run out of stories in the series!

Genuinely, this is one of the most enjoyable series I've ever read, and finishing off the current selection with the novel was perfect. It's medium-fast paced, has great action, is well balanced between character development and narrative, and features a truly poignant emotional arc. Plus, as a big bonus, a considerable chunk of the book features Murderbot/ART banter, which is exactly what I needed this week.

Whilst there's clearly more to come, I'm relieved to finish on a positive for Murderbot and its future. The ending didn't feel like a bunch of loose threads hastily drawn together, nor was there a cliff-hanger (they're not my favourite plot device). However, our favourite introverted sentient murder machine has an opportunity before it, which will no doubt lead to more snarky, cynical, and genuinely hilarious A.I. banter.

Now I just have to cross my fingers and hope that the November publishing date for the next instalment, System Collapse, is correct.
