Really enjoyed reading this book.
There's a lot of information coming at you as a reader, but the good part is that both Keriyah and her travel companions don't necessarily know what's going on as they encounter situations that are completely new to them. I liked learning about the magic system and the deeper conflicts in the realm alongside Keriyah.
Our main is an incredibly insecure person, primarily because she's been put down both emotionally and physically her whole life.
She's desperate to get a chance to prove herself. But once she gets the chance, she gets in her own way.

Keriyah has a lot to learn, and I appreciated that the situations were approached in a way that showed that not every issue is black and white, and the line between friend and foe isn't always clear, even if people may claim to have the best intentions.
I'm hooked, and I'm looking forward to seeing Keriyah and Thorion grow together as dragon speaker/dragon duo.
