This was cozy sci-fi mystery to the max!

Imagine humanity forced to leave a poisoned earth and has now settled on the gaseous planet of Jupiter where the main goal of pretty much everyone is to get back home one day.

This follows investigator Mossa as she inquires about a missing person. Said missing person is a scholar which brings her to the doorstep of ex-girlfriend Pleiti as Mossa needs her university connections and know how to help solve the case. What they discover could not only shift core beliefs and long range goals but possibly derail future plans for transforming earth back to its former habitability.

Where this shines is the world building as the author reveals how life is with these colonists. Confoundingly, it almost gives a historic good ole western vibe as the gaseous planet interferes with technology, juxtaposing with the coincidental British-like societal propriety that runs parallel with hints of steampunk without the steam. Why this sort of setting appeals is a mystery to me, but I liked it!

Again, nice and easy. I look forward to the sequel!
