Summer loving had me a blast
Summer loving happened so fast
I met a girl boy crazy for me
Met a boy cute as can be
Summer fling, don't mean a thing

Stiles and company are on an after-graduation camping trip.
Stiles and company meet and hang out with a group of hot bikers.
Derek wears leather; is impressively forward, confident, and ultra cool.
Derek of course, is hiding his pain behind this sexy facade.

I agree with Rosa's review - not much happens. But I also agree that I could read this kind of thing all day. That's why we read Sterek right?? The fact that this had some good angst, UST and smex just makes it a veritable winner in my book.

So this is basically a werewolf AU where Stiles is the alpha of his pack and it reads like defeating said-baddie-of-the-week. In and among life threatening, soul sucking witches, he comes across his mate Derek. Lots of claiming, pining, scenting ensues as they race against time to not get dead.

Bonus - we get our "reward" at the end :)

Stiles is bit by a werefox and despite the ensuing complications behind that event, it is the impetus to get the feelings rolling - feelings apparently everyone knows about except Stiles. So Stiles is clueless until he isn't and he then boldly and relentelessly pursues Derek. The outcome of course, is awesome.

Some nice highlights to note:
-As always the Sheriff shines in this.
-There are whole conversations with Derek's eyebrows.
-Stiles is a fox and every time he interacts with Derek, my heart melted.
-Smex (tho as is typical, it's at the end but it sure was hot!!)

So like many Stereks we've read, Derek holds himself apart from Stiles for reasons such as the fact that's he's under 18, but mostly out of fear. He's so careful of Stiles, tiptoes around him so as to not scare him off, to not make any demands. What he doesn't fully comprehend is that Stiles is all in - he knows what he wants, and what he wants is Derek. Like we've seen too, Stiles understands him, handles Derek so well, pushes him to express himself and won't let him hide.

There were definitely some fun moments in this, but I also felt that this was more contemplative. It was a fantastic, realistic, slow burn progression of how these two acknowledge the other and move forward - sometimes with several steps backward in the process. This was tender and sweet, playful and romantic. The emphasis on pack and family runs throughout this fic, and as always, it was a joy watching Stiles and Derek ultimately become each other's.

This was so reminiscent of my young adult years when I gobbled up historical romance like candy. It kinda makes me laugh at the nostalgia of it.

So you classically have a high lord, or in this case a prince who needs to pick a spouse from a respectable family to strengthen political ties. This must be done out of duty and obligation; love is not a prerequisite for marriage.

Stiles laments that he cannot be granted a love match, but seeing as how he is the future king of his territory, an alliance is needed with the Hale kingdom. Feelings are mutual regarding Cora and Derek and one of them will be chosen to marry the prince.

This had all the requisite inner turmoil ramblings of the genre. Lots of "he's only with me because he was forced into it", "he'll never love me like I want him too", "I will be resigned to us one day caring for each other but love is a fool's dream", etc. However I was ok with that because that's my kind of angst!

In between jousts and secret smexy assignations, a big wrench in the form of Kate is thrown in. Misunderstandings ensue, and feelings get hurt. Included are some subplots regarding the supporting cast that some might not be interested in. Overall a nice diversion and different, but entertaining take on Sterek.

For everything that [b:I Call You Names Because I Love You|23362127|I Call You Names Because I Love You|tylerfucklin|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1413230140s/23362127.jpg|42917657] wasn't, this was. I don't want to go into too much detail but here are the highlights.

1. It's in Derek's POV

2. Derek is out and proud.

3. Derek is a literature professor by day/indie songwriter by night who's touring Europe on his summer break! How swoon worthy is that?

4. Stiles is a fan of Derek's and approaches him after a concert. Flirty banter, courting, and sexy UST ensue.

5. Definitely catches the vibe of the musician trope.

6. Basically there's no angst - so no worries for being worried.

7. Smex is always a bonus.

8. There's a shotgun wedding in Vegas.

9. Epilogue lovers have no fear.

10. Perfect freakin fluff.

I was definitely left satisfied with a smile on my face, so much so that I'm on my second go around listening to the podfic! Enjoy!

I'm kinda on the fence about this. I didn't necessarily like the incident that put the ball in motion but I seriously can't complain about the consequences it reaps.
