Interesting concept! I enjoyed it though and can't wait to get into the next volume.

This was hilarious. I wish it was longer. It really provided some insight to limits of sexual freedom experienced by Iranian women. I think living in and growing up in a culture where virginity isn't a necessity to get married makes it reality difficult to understand why it is such a meaningful aspect in other cultures. This short graphic novel really provided some insight to what it's like to grow up in a culture where a women are fearful of what will happen if their virginity is taken prior to marriage or if they get divorced. I think living in a society where the sexual freedom or even marital freedom is granted to woman blinds and shield us from understanding other cultures. This was a great read and I'm glad I read it for my Around the World Reading Challenge. Full review to come soon!

Strangest story I've read in a very long time. I don't really even know how to collect my thoughts about it to be honest. This is another book that fit into my Around the World Reading Challenge. I definitely will be doing a full review, but right now I think I'm at a loss for words haha. I just need time to collect my thoughts. :)

Complete and total perfection. Loved the constant dichotomy between the two sisters as well as their growth and further blurring of the lines between sense and sensibility.

One of my main goals on my bucketlist is to read every work created by Shakespeare. After spending a day at the thrift shop I was able to find a copy of Othello for about 65 cents. Prior to reading this play I hadn't read any Shakespearean works since high school. I found myself easily absorbed in the text although I struggled with certain passages. I personally would not consider Othello to be one of my favorite works by Shakespeare. The means by which the characters are developed did not bring me much satisfaction. The plot however twisted it was did not provide me with the usual satisfaction I typically get from his works. Worth a read, but it's not necessarily my favorite work.

This was absolutely beautiful considering the author did not use any text. I loved all the pictures and definitely loved the fact that the reader is left to determine the story line through those images. The way in which he was able to capture the journey of immigrants in a new land was amazing. I really hope there will be more work like this in the future.
