Mad Honey is fantastic. The overall plot is an incredibly moving depiction of young love and tragedy. But there is so much more going on in this book, and I cannot get over the beauty of the storytelling. The authors expertly use the voices of two women sharing their past experiences to create deeper meaning in the space where their lives intersect in the present. As much as I love the storyline and characters, I am just as impressed how the book's composition wove so many perspectives and timelines together so seamlessly. A truly masterful work.

So perfect. Sweet progression from lust to friendship to true intimacy. I really appreciated the growth and self-awareness that the characters went through. They needed to face things for their own sakes, but they knew were investing in their relationship at the same time. Fun to read, great date ideas, and a satisfying ending. 5 stars!

I know people like to rank or compare Emily Henry books, so here's my hot take. Happy Place has a lot of anger, pain, and conflict so it was a fairly anxious read for me. Funny Story is actually much happier and smoother so it was an easier read. But it's kind of like having kids. You love them all the same amount, but you love them differently for they are as indivuals.

This book is so good! Who doesn't have a what-if person from their past? It's emotionally satisfying to see someone else have a chance at a "do over" and get the happy ending that could have stayed a dream.

The first two-thirds of the book was pretty slow, and I was a bit bored at times. Then all hell broke loose, and I loved every second of it. I love a good stabby girl, and Jude did not disappoint by the end! It's always a mystery to me how a 17 year old girl turns into a dagger-wielding, strategic mastermind in the last 100 pages of a fantasy book, but I'm here for it.
