Aw man, this fell so flat for me. 

The first 50 or so pages set everything up really nice and had me interested, but WOOF. After the initial set up, I found myself hoping ANYTHING would happen to make me care about any single character. 

The romance wasn’t believable, there was zero chemistry, and by the end we just had to take their word for it that they loved one another.

Fun and insufferable read ! 

Living inside June’s brain was exhausting; and I’ve never been more happy to be rid of a character, but that’s the whole point. 

Kuang’s writing rules, gives me the motivation to finally read The Poppy War
