I’m afraid there wasn’t anything special about this book that made me want to keep coming back for more. It took me almost a month to finish. Sigh.

I could have used a little more cohesiveness in the details. Some parts got repetitive in a way that bordered on laziness. The details of the coverup were some of the strongest portions.

How to End a Love Story by Yulin Kuang

The writing is good. The banter is top notch. The premise is just crazy enough to work. However, I never felt like I got to know the characters enough to understand why they loved each other. Their connection felt a little more tell than show. Overall, a great read and I’m looking forward to more of this author’s work.
Middle of the Night by Riley Sager

A bit too predictable for my taste, especially considering it’s Riley Sager. I did appreciate that
the ending was more plain old tragedy than some far off supernatural thing like in house across the lake.
but at the same time far too many coincidental things happening at once for my liking.
