When Maddox Lovelace caught stunning green eyes looking his way across the quad, fixed on the football jersey stretched across his broad chest, he couldn’t help but flex a little—showing off the strength of a defensive tackle to the pretty girl with mouth watering curves just to see her blush. From that point, he couldn’t get her or her sweet freckled cheeks out of his thoughts. He needed to know this girl who bolted away like a scared rabbit every time they bumped into each other, and who shyly agreed to attend his game for her first taste of football: Hannah Utley, a fellow student who worked at the campus library, and who let “Mad Dog” Maddox rest his head on her shoulder as she read to him in the study rooms. It started innocently… mostly. Until both Maddox and Hannah lose track of time and find themselves locked inside after closing. It’s just the two of them in the stacks—alone—with nothing but desire between them.
Tackled in the Stacks was such a treat to read. I adore FMC Hannah and MMC Maddox; they’re both impressively well , even in this short form, and I felt a strong connection to them both through their respective POVs. The chemistry between them was sweet and natural, and I got a real sense of the growing connection between them. This is the prequel to the novel, Love, Utley. Knowing the premise of the novel as a second chance romance, I know it’s going to break my heart a little, but I can’t wait to dive in. I’m so ready to read their story.
