Did not finish book. Stopped at 25%.
It took me nearly two weeks of trying to get into this book before I had to just call it quits. The sci-fi concepts and world building were very complex and seemed to take up 90% of the content I read. There was barely anything by way of plot, and hardly any excitement at all. This book is very character-heavy and lighthearted. I definitely agree with the other reviews of it being like a soap-opera. I am not one for soap-operas.

This book was very feel-good and cute but the plot just did nothing for me. Gifted children’s orphanage trope is just so played out and there was *negative* world building. The characters were lovable although some parts got a bit repetitive and long-winded. Overall you will like it if you like saccharine YA.

Unfortunately this fell extremely flat for me after all the hype. I felt nothing towards the characters and the repetitive prose started to become annoying about halfway through. I think the story was very drawn out and I kept wondering when something was actually going to happen. I didn’t love the way time jumped around but for me it wasn’t necessarily difficult to follow.
