This book had me choked up for Benji multiple times. He was trying so hard to do right by his son, Benji, and proof himself a worthy (co-)parent to Liv. I absolutely love this series. The found family vibes and character development are immaculate. It was nice to see Benji and Liv communicate about their insecurities and the ways in which they have grown since the last saw each other in high school. I loved that their issues didn't just disappear overnight. Benji and Liv felt real. Loved it.
This was a really nice fantasy read. I loved the setting of 1920's Harlem jazz era and the crime noir vibes.
Layla and Jamie were my favourite characters in this story, and I wished that Jamie's character was utilised more within the story. Layla was a complex and layered character. She misses her life as a human and the loss of her parents and dreams for the future. Between Layla and Elise, Layla is definitely the more rational thinker of the two.
Elise was a little too naive for my taste, and I personally would've preferred some more character development surrounding her loyalty to her family at an earlier point in the book.
Overall, this was an enjoyable suspenseful vampire story, and I'm looking forward to the next part.

I received an ARC through Netgalley. My opinions are my own.

FUN! I haven't read a hockey romance in a while, and this one definitely delivered. From hate sex to friends with benefits to lovers was well done. There's a 3rd act break-up, but it isn't stretched out any longer than necessary. I enjoyed the banter between Cal, Hannah, and their friend group. Finished this book in one sitting; the perfect read for a lazy Sunday!
I liked Layla's and Bowie's story. The banter had me laughing out loud several times, and the overall plot reminded me of a telenovella. The motor club gave me 'Robin Hood' vibes, in the sense that they are definitely on the shadier side of things, but do their best to keep the town and it's citizens safe. This story was a fun small town romp with a bit of suspense and lovable characters.
I liked the way in which this polyromance developed. The banter was on point. I just wish we would've seen more of them in the actual relationship without all the angst.
Side note: the men in this universe really need to learn not to make assumptions and deals with each other that blindside the women.
This is such a fun, quick read! Tatum and Atlas have a great rapport and banter going on between the two of them, and I liked that they both showed emotional vulnerability towards each other. Spicy and sweet!

I received an ARC from the author. My opinions are my own.
Short and very steamy! This is an insta lust, pro-wrestling RH romance, and it was over too quickly. I wanted more. If you're looking for a story where HR doesn't seem to be an issue when frolicking during work time, the characters are likeable and with a dash of show wrestling shenanigans: this is the one.
This quote pretty much sums up my experience reading this book. It was trippy! I was incredibly confused and found myself wondering if the main character, Shahin, really fell into a wormhole or if he was experiencing psychosis. Or maybe somehow both? I just wanted to figure out what was actually going on, and I really wanted things to work out.
That being said, the story is told in a fast-paced manner where all the different moments (memories?) seamlessly flowed together. So, despite my confusion about what was happening and when and where our main character was, I did enjoy reading this story. Throughout, we get multiple variations of the past, present, and future. Nothing is the same twice, which made it so much harder to puzzle things together. I loved it!
The feeling of bewilderment is, I believe, very much the point of this story, and I think the author has done an incredible job in creating this. I think this story is great for people who are looking for a sci-fi with a smidge of fantasy variation of the "stuck in a timeloop" trope and people who enjoyed movies such as 'Inception' and 'Looper'.
